One of the most important things in providing Person-Centred Care is to carry out a robust initial assessment with the client. One of the directors will visit the client and go through a detailed form which enables the care support plan to be developed around the client. This is a MUST for high quality care.
We ensure that all of our care staff are highly knowledgeable, skilled and trained to a very high standard in giving expert care, Astar Homecare Ltd are second to none and have strong values and vision of the care provided.
All daily living tasks are supported and we will encourage independence to every client. We are not there to ‘take over’ or make the person feel inadequate, our carers are there to promote active participation and improvement in the person’s quality of life.
Most care agencies will send carers in to support nutritional needs, most of the time this is the carer heating a microwave meal and leaving it for the person, we do NOT accept that, we provide full home-cooked meals, prepared with the person as they chose to have it, freshly cooked meats, freshly prepared vegetables and wonderful home-cook food. This way it provides a nutritious meal and then increases the health and well-being of the client.
Personal Care tasks are carried out with respect and dignity at all times, making sure the person is supported in the way they choose, no rushing in and rushing out. We appreciate that some people can become very embarrassed and apprehensive in carrying out this need, so we endeavour to make it as personal to the client as far as possible.
Housekeeping is also available along with animal care and support.

Live-in Home Care
Live in care supports you to have someone in your home twenty four hours a day.
For a person who may have lived in the same house for many years, have many memories there, the thought of not being able to remain in their own home is horrific it can also cause depression, frustration and affect their health & well-being.
When this time approaches it is natural that the thought of leaving their home, losing their friends or social interaction can be very daunting. This is where there is another option, Live in care.

Direct payments are payments from the local council and now NHS for people who have been assessed as needing help, and who would like to arrange and pay for their own care and support services.
End of Life Care
This is something we all hate to think about but know that one day it will come to us all; something we may not want to discuss with our family.
Every individual has the right to be supported in End of Life care the way they choose, they may want to be in their home with family around them, rather than in a strange bed in hospital. That is why Astar Homecare Ltd assists in preparing an End of Life support plan. This gives detailed instructions on what the person has decided, it will include any religious needs, any funeral decisions and any intervention instructions. Astar Homecare Ltd has found that in preparing the wishes of the person gives comfort at times of despair as the loved ones can have clear information on the last wishes of their family member, reducing the decision making or disagreements between family members.
